There are times when you want to print a document on your Mac but you don’t have a printer, so you try to save the document and print from somewhere else. Whether it’s a .docx file or a word file, printing the documents without a printer is possible, your Mac can save it in PDF format which can be later used to print from a printer.
For me, things are easy when it’s in PDF format, it ensures that it’s a fixed file cannot be edited further. You can easily mail the PDF file to a friend or someone who owns a printer and bring out the print this way. Here’s how you can print documents to PDF on your Mac computer.
Your Mac has built-in support for PDF files, you can print files to PDF from a number of apps – Safari, Pages, Notes, and third-party apps like Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and so on. When printing or creating a PDF of a webpage, you can include its background image and color, and show the web address and date in headers and footers. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose File Print. Click the options pop-up menu (in the separator bar), choose Safari, then set the webpage printing options.
I tried installing the CreateBooklet1.1.dmg and go ahead print my documents, choose the create booklet option on PDF button on my print page. A while later a PDF document popped out on the Preview App. It’s just that I can’t figure out where that file is located? So, I just exported the PDF file to create a new pdf file. After you’ve done this, go into Pages (or Microsoft Word or whatever program you are trying to print from) and select print, like you are going to normally print a document. But instead of pressing print (in the bottom right corner of the window) select the ‘PDF’ button in the bottom left of the window, and click on ‘Create Booklet’.
